Speech & Voice As A Means To Classical Text & Individual Expression: The fundamentals of vocal training for actors to develop a beautiful, strong, versatile instrument. Breath control and physical exercises designed to make the actor aware of vocal capabilities and possibilities.

In this workshop we will practice using passages from THE SEAGULL, THE CHERRY ORCHARD, and Shakespeare. Exercises will be given to develop the muscles of speech that result in clarity and a connection to the dramatic intent of the words.

Please bring a hand mirror, pencil and notepad to each class and wear comfortable clothing to move in. Students may wish to bring a yoga mat or towel to use during sessions. Students need to have read THE SEAGULL and THE CHERRY ORCHARD
(No Mamet translations) and have a familiarity with the works of Shakespeare before beginning the class.
An optional speech workbook by the author is available for $50 (cash only).
